LAPA would like to celebrate and honor an individual who has helped to make a difference in our legal community through service with LAPA.   The ideal nominee for Volunteer of the Year exemplifies the traditions and ideals of the Los Angeles Paralegal Association, a passion for service, dedication to serving the legal community and leadership skills.  If you know an individual that embodies these qualities and meets the eligibility criteria outlined below, please nominate them today! Nomination Process and Eligibility Criteria

  • Self nominations or nominations by peers can be made by completing and submitting the attached Nomination Form.

  • A nominee must be a member of the Los Angeles Paralegal Association.

  • A nominee must have contributed a minimum of 25 hours of service to LAPA through either working LAPA events or contributing to LAPA by providing some type of service (i.e., writing an article for the LAPA Reporter on a LAPA event, assisting with a LAPA event, e.g. LAPA's Holiday Benefit Gala, etc.).  The 25 hours of minimum service to LAPA cannot include hours for academic credit or community service.

  • The individual must work in the Los Angeles County area.

Criteria for Selection

  • Selection will be based on the nominee’s measurable impact on the legal community, depth of engagement in service projects and participation in LAPA sponsored outreach programs, activities and partnerships.

  • The Volunteer of the Year will be selected by the Executive Committee and confirmed by the LAPA Board of Directors.

Nomination Timeframe

  • Nomination Forms are due no later than October 1st at 5pm via e-mail at admin@lapa.org.
