Vehicle Theft v. Fraud

Vehicle Theft vs. Fraud is a one-hour presentation designed to assist participants in determining if vehicle damage claimed after recovery is consistent with a theft scenario. This course covers vehicle theft methods consistent with various vehicle types and examines how manufacturer's ignition systems and technologies are possibly defeated to allow vehicles to drive away. Ultimately, this course provides participants with information needed to understand elements and conditions consistent with actual thefts vs. fraudulent claims.
Roger A. Horn, P.E., is a Senior Consultant at Rimkus with over 28 years of diversified engineering, manufacturing, and project management experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara and is a registered professional engineer in California. Mr. Horn is a certified forensic locksmith for automotive theft investigations and certified in heavy vehicle mechanical inspection for commercial vehicle forensic inspections. His forensic engineering experience includes automotive accident investigation, damage analysis, mechanical failures, vehicle thefts, and vehicle fires for legal, insurance, and corporate clients. He has extensive experience with manufacturers including General Motors, Ford, European, and Asian automotive security systems.
