An overview of information to gather from debtors in order to provide non-bankruptcy and bankruptcy options for dealing with debt.
Elizabeth Gonzalez is a Staff Attorney with Public Counsel’s Consumer Rights and Economic Justice/Debtor Assistance Project. She has worked in the areas of bankruptcy and consumer law for almost 10 years. During this time, she has testified before the United States Senate Judiciary Committee on student loan bankruptcy reform, presented on panels related to student loans and bankruptcy, and has obtained financial relief for clients totaling almost $500,000.00. She is currently a member of the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation’s Debt Collection Advisory Committee. She is a 2009 graduate of the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, where she is a Lecturer in Law.
