Jessie McGrath has been a Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney for over 33 years. During her time in the office she has worked in many different and challenging assignments including; Central Trials, the Juvenile Division, The Major Narcotics Division, The High Technology Crimes Division and the Consumer Protection Division. She is currently assigned as the Deputy-in-Charge of the Asset Forfeiture Section and she also serves as one of DA’s office representatives on LA County’s Anti-Racism, Diversity and Inclusion program. Ms. McGrath’s first murder trial involved the death of a trans woman of color who was shot on Sunset Blvd by her meth dealer. Ms. McGrath has been involved in many high-profile civil/criminal consumer fraud and high technology crime prosecutions including cases against: Apple, Uber, Sony BMG, Choice Point, Honda of Santa Monica, McKenna BMW and Gunderson Chevrolet. She was the head of the High-Tech Crimes Unit before it eventually became the Cyber Crimes Division. Since 2016 she has been on the Board of Directors of APLA Health (and for a time the predecessor organization Aids Project Los Angeles) which is a Federally Qualified Health Center providing health care to the underserved populations in Los Angeles. Ms. McGrath is the proud parent of 5 children, two of whom have already graduated law school and a third is in his first year at USC Law School.
